10 highly-rated places to stay in Casablanca for solo travellers

Looking for the best places to stay in Casablanca for solo travellers? As the country’s biggest city, Casablanca can be overwhelming, particularly if you’re travelling solo around Morocco.

In contrast to places like Marrakech and Fes, the sightseeing isn’t concentrated in a medina. Instead, Casa’s museums and architectural landmarks are scattered throughout the city, meaning you have to rely on public transport or (expensive) taxis to get around.

Unfortunately, Casablanca doesn’t have a huge choice of riad hotels (unlike Marrakech and Fes) and its hostel options are severely limited. What it does have in abundance, however, are contemporary high-rise hotels from big-name brands, some of which are really design-driven. If there’s one place in Morocco where I’d recommend trading a heritage stay for stylish, modern hotel, Casa is it!

In this article, I’ll share some of the best places to stay in Casablanca for solo travellers, whether you’re travelling on a budget or money is no object. Aside from hotels next to the main railway stations and on the edge of the medina, I’ve included modern properties in the heart of Casa’s dining and shopping districts.

Luxury hotels in Casablanca for solo travellers

Royal Mansour Casablanca

Best ultra-luxurious hotel in Casablanca

The Royal Mansour first opened its doors to guests in 1952 and quickly became the preferred retreat for the Moroccan royal family. Ever since, it has been celebrated for its stunning accommodations and outstanding service. If money is no object, then this is the place to stay in Casablanca!

After undergoing a complete redesign, the Royal Mansour Casablanca reopened in 2024, more luxurious and sophisticated than ever. Each of its 149 lavish accommodations embodies the spirit of the 1950s when Casablanca was in its heyday. In addition to stylish rooms and suites, there are apartments and duplexes offering incredible views across the city.

When it comes to dining, you can enjoy gourmet creations by three-star chef Eric Frechon at La Brasserie, relish exquisite Japanese dishes at Le Sushi Bar or feast on fine Moroccan cuisine on the 23rd floor at La Grande Table Marocaine. The cherry on the top is the Royal Mansour Casablanca’s 2,500-square-metre spa, which comes complete with a traditional hammam.

Art Palace Suites & Spa

Best luxury hotel in Casablanca for solo travellers

Nestled in the heart of Casablanca’s Gauthier neighbourhood, the Art Palace Suites & Spa is surrounded by globally-inspired restaurants and stylish rooftop bars, making it perfect for foodies or night owls. It boasts 25 uniquely designed suites, each providing the elegance and comforts you’d expect from a five-star establishment.

This luxurious boutique Casablanca hotel has thoughtfully curated its accommodations to showcase a wide array of historical periods and design influences – I especially love the Andalusian-inspired patios found in the deluxe suites. There’s also a 250-square-metre spa, L’Ambre, where you can indulge in a massage, a hammam or use the hydromassage pool.

In addition to the opulent guest rooms at the Art Palace Suites & Spa, its culinary experiences are impressive, with a blend of international cuisine and traditional Moroccan dishes served at L’Art. If you’re looking for a more laid-back dining option, Le 4 Lounge Bar offers a selection of creative cocktails and tapas.

Marly Boutique Hotel

Best boutique hotel in Casablanca for foodies

Newly opened in February 2025, the Marly Boutique Hotel still feels brand spanking new and is a great choice for solo travellers wanting a high-end stay in Casablanca. It occupies an Art Deco-inspired building on Al Massira Boulevard and offers easy access to the Villa des Arts, Mohammed V Stadium and the fairways of Royal Golf Anfa.

In total, there are just 39 rooms and suites, so it really does have a boutique vibe. Each has been creatively decorated with vintage-inspired furnishings and abstract artworks – the murals behind the bedheads immediately draw your attention. The deluxe doubles are perfectly spacious for solo travellers, although you could splurge on a suite with a balcony.

For a hotel so small, it might come as a surprise that there are two restaurants available, both of exceptional standard. The Parisian-inspired Maison M brasserie serves French and Mediterranean cuisine while the Mystic rooftop restaurant specialises in Japanese, Peruvian and fusion dishes.

Mid-range hotels in Casablanca for solo travellers

Kaan Casablanca

Best mid-range hotel in Casablanca for solo travellers

Kaan is among a string of new hotels popping up in Casablanca and radiates a fresh and vibrant atmosphere. I had the pleasure of staying here during my recent trip to the city and enjoyed every aspect, from the creatively designed rooms to the rooftop bar and the welcoming staff.

The ground floor is innovatively designed, providing numerous spots to relax and socialise or grab a bite while working on your laptop. Aside from Kaantine (where buffet breakfasts are served), you can find light snacks and sweet treats at the Grab & Go cafe. On the rooftop is Misti, a slightly more sophisticated restaurant serving fusion fare.

The hotel boasts a total of 255 rooms and suites, each designed with modern Moroccan decor and high-end amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. Although Kaan may not have an extensive range of facilities (for instance, there’s no spa and no gym), the co-working space makes it perfect for digital nomads.

Additionally, the hotel frequently hosts live music nights and stand-up comedy evenings, making it a popular social hub for young people living in Casablanca.

Barceló Anfa Casablanca

Best mid-range hotel in Casablanca with a pool

Located on one of Casablanca’s main thoroughfares, Avenue des FAR, Barceló Anfa is a popular hotel amongst business and leisure travellers. Its Art Deco design reflects the architecture in the surrounding streets and it is strategically situated for easy access to Sacred Heart Cathedral, Hassan II Mosque and the medina.

All of the rooms at this contemporary Casablanca hotel are warmly decorated, with pops of azure blue and lime green throughout. That being said, the glass-walled bathrooms are not for everyone. But if you’re travelling solo, this probably isn’t as much of an issue as it can be for couples or friends wanting their privacy.

A big perk of this Casablanca hotel is its sprawling terrace and outdoor pool where you can relax on a sun lounger with a drink in hand. Additionally, there’s a well-equipped gym, an onsite spa and a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. One of the main drawbacks of staying here is the noise from the street – ask for a poolside room for a quieter experience.

Stayhere Casablanca – Maarif

Best apartment hotel in Casablanca for solo travellers

If you want a spacious apartment and the facilities to prepare your own meals, then Stayhere Casablanca – Maarif is a good choice. These executive residences are designed for both tourists and business travellers while being located close to upscale shopping and globally-inspired restaurants.

Occupying a modern high-rise building, each of the apartments boasts a comfortable sitting area and a fully equipped kitchenette. In addition to a stovetop and microwave for cooking, there are pod-style coffee makers (and complimentary coffee too!)

The stylish bathrooms are a notch above what you might expect from an apart-hotel and come complete with walk-in showers. Some of the apartments also boast balconies and alfresco sitting areas if you want a private slice of outdoor space.

If Stayhere Casablanca – Maarif is fully booked, you can check their sister property at Stayhere Casablanca Gauthier 2, which is just around the corner.

Radisson Hotel Casablanca Gauthier La Citadelle

Best mid-range Casablanca hotel with a gym

When this property opened in 2024, it was the first upscale Radisson-branded hotel in Morocco. It’s located in the Gauthier district, right on the edge of Arab League Park with its palm tree-lined walking trails, sporting fields and landscaped gardens. It’s also realllllly close to the Villa des Arts if that’s on your sightseeing itinerary!

In total, there are 133 spacious rooms, including nine suites, with a design that centres around a calming beige and white aesthetic. I particularly love the black and white photos of Casablanca buildings that decorate the spaces – a welcome touch for architecture fans. The standard rooms offer more than enough space for solo travellers, although the views across Casablanca from the high-floor suites make them worth the splurge.

In terms of facilities at this mid-range Casablanca hotel, there’s a well-equipped fitness centre and a small outdoor pool where you can kick back in the summer months. The onsite Braise Restaurant specialises in wood-fired cuisine while the Bliss rooftop bar is a great place to enjoy a cocktail while listening to tunes from the resident DJ.

Budget hotels in Casablanca for solo travellers

L’Hostel a Casablanca

Best hostel in Casablanca for solo travellers

L’Hostel is situated in the Oasis district and is undoubtedly one of the best budget accommodations in Casablanca. In fact, it’s one of the only hostels in Casablanca I can confidently recommend. It effortlessly fuses the charm of a Moroccan guesthouse with the lively atmosphere of a youth hostel – perfect if you’re seeking a sociable stay!

As you step through the front gate, you’re welcomed into a gorgeous garden, which is an ideal spot to unwind between sightseeing adventures. Inside, the transformed villa boasts communal lounges that are great for connecting with fellow travellers, plus there’s a dedicated co-working area for digital nomads.

The outdoor patio that overlooks the garden offers a peaceful environment for enjoying home-cooked meals and there’s a shared kitchen that guests can use. I also love that there are tram and train stations located a few minutes away so you can easily get around Casablanca, without having to rely on expensive taxis.

Relax Hotel Casa Voyageurs

Best budget hotel near Casa Voyageurs

Located just 500 metres from Casa Voyageurs railway station, this budget-friendly Casablanca hotel is a great option if you’re arriving in or departing the city by train. Additionally, you can jump on a train at Casa Voyageurs and be at the airport in 30 minutes. This is the perfect place to stay if you’re just overnighting in the city before flying out!

Each of the 94 rooms and suites at this affordable Casablanca hotel features a comfortable bed, a TV and complimentary Wi-Fi, with some also boasting desks if you’re working remotely. Breakfast is available on request, with both hot and cold options.

If you want to socialise with other guests, there are several stylishly decorated common spaces and the friendly staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. If you’re someone who finds the thought of exploring Casablanca overwhelming and just wants somewhere convenient to overnight, then I think Relax Hotel Casa Voyageurs is ideal.

Ryad 91

Best budget-friendly riad in Casablanca

If you want to be smack bang in the middle of the Old City and within walking distance of Casa Port railway station, then Ryad 91 could be for you. It’s located on the edge of the medina, offering easy access to the historic district’s authentic markets and produce stalls.

This traditionally designed Casablanca riad is set across three floors and comes complete with a hammam in the basement and a rooftop terrace dotted with chairs and loungers. There are three rooms on the ground floor, one of which is considered a “small double” and ideal for solo travellers seeking a budget stay.

All of the rooms provide access to a shared kitchen where you can prepare your own meals and there’s a laundry if you need to catch up on your washing. On the first floor is a comfortable lounge with a small library and sofas where you can socialise with other guests.  Breakfasts are included in the rates and served on the terrace.
